Night Manager - Pre-Opening

About the role

The AC Hotel by Marriott Gold Coast is a new hotel opening near Surfers Paradise, and it is looking for an experienced, confident and service-driven Night Manager to join its pre-opening team. You will oversee all hotel operations overnight, support Front Office operations, manage night audit and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Applicants must hold unrestricted Australian work rights.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all overnight operations, lead and support overnight Front Office associates and coordinate with all departments
• Manage overnight staffing, operational issues and emergencies, and ensure compliance with brand standards, policies and safety procedures
• Serve as the main point of contact for guests overnight, handle enquiries and resolve issues
• Complete and oversee Night Audit, reconcile daily revenue and cashier reports, prepare daily reports and follow cash handling and internal control procedures
• Maintain a safe environment, respond to emergencies, inspect the property, liaise with security and emergency services and comply with workplace health and safety laws
• Help develop overnight procedures and systems, take part in recruiting and training Front Office staff, and test hotel systems and technology

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Night Manager, Duty Manager, Front Office Supervisor or similar hotel leadership role
• Experience overseeing Night Audit and overnight operations
• Strong understanding of Front Office procedures, revenue reconciliation and cash handling
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Diploma, degree or tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Business, Hotel Management or a related field is highly regarded
• Previous Marriott experience is advantageous but not essential

Required skills

• Knowledge of hotel property management systems; Opera Cloud experience is highly regarded
• Exceptional leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and financial accuracy
