Night Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Night Manager oversees all hotel operations during the night shift at QT Sydney, ensuring safety, service quality and smooth coordination across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage night‑time hotel operations, including security, WH&S, service standards and departmental coordination.
• Deliver exceptional guest service – check‑ins/outs, address concerns and fulfil requests.
• Complete accurate night audit, posting revenue, balancing payments and maintaining documentation.
• Supervise night team members, uphold performance standards and enforce operational policies.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping, Reservations and Maintenance to prepare rooms and meet guest needs.
• Perform opening/closing duties, protect equipment and support other departments as required.
• Handle guest comments and complaints with tact, escalating feedback to management when needed.
• Action guest messages and special requests promptly, coordinating with relevant departments.

Required profile

• Previous experience in front office or overnight hotel operations as manager on duty.
• Strong guest‑service orientation with ability to anticipate needs and resolve issues quickly.
• Proficiency in front‑office systems, night‑audit processes and hotel property‑management software.
• Experience in financial reconciliation – posting revenue, balancing payments and spotting discrepancies.
• Effective communication and leadership skills for supervising night staff and cross‑department collaboration.
• Knowledge of WH&S guidelines, hotel operational procedures and local area information.
