Network and Infrastructure Engineer - Azure Cloud Networking

About the role

The role is a senior technical escalation point for infrastructure, networking, cloud and security within a fast‑growing financial services organisation. You will own and modernise the technology environment while working closely with technology leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for infrastructure, cloud, network and security issues.
• Manage and optimise Azure networking (VNets, NSGs), Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and related Microsoft services.
• Support and enhance enterprise networking – firewalls, VPNs, switching and WAN/LAN connectivity.
• Own infrastructure security, vulnerability management, endpoint protection and compliance initiatives.
• Lead backup, disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
• Develop automation and operational efficiencies using PowerShell scripting.
• Collaborate with vendors, MSP partners and internal stakeholders to drive service improvements.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, platform upgrades and future‑state technology planning.

Required profile

• Strong experience in infrastructure, systems or network engineering roles.
• Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Solid networking knowledge – routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls and WAN/LAN environments.
• Experience with Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory and endpoint management.
• Familiarity with security tools such as CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Huntress or Defender.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
