National Account Manager – Consumer Business Group

About the role

The National Account Manager for the Consumer Business Group will lead 3M’s presence across major Australian retail channels, including Kmart, Target and Costco. This role focuses on delivering sales growth, executing customer plans and strengthening relationships with key consumer‑goods accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on channel and customer financial targets – sales, margin and pricing.
• Develop and execute annual and quarterly customer strategies and Joint Business Plans for key accounts.
• Drive channel initiatives such as range reviews, promotional planning, e‑commerce programs and distribution coverage.
• Manage pricing, rebates, commercial terms and customer incentive plans, ensuring compliance and optimisation.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, review performance at monthly business reviews and address gaps through corrective actions.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing and product teams to align on portfolio strategy, new product introductions and demand‑generation activities.
• Maintain strong cross‑functional relationships with internal influencers and external retail partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing national or key accounts within the consumer‑goods retail sector.
• Demonstrated ability to meet sales, margin and pricing commitments.
• Experience developing and executing joint business plans with major retailers.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and identify growth opportunities.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence internal stakeholders.
