Microsoft Purview Data Protection Consultant

About the role

Join Avanade’s security practice as a Microsoft Purview Data Protection Consultant, working with both Avanade and Accenture clients on large‑scale data protection projects. You will design and implement Zero Trust architectures and Microsoft security solutions to safeguard client data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy Microsoft Purview for data governance, compliance, information protection, DLP and insider risk management.
• Configure Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Develop data classification, labeling, retention policies and DSPM strategies for AI systems.
• Conduct data protection risk assessments and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Lead security workshops, discovery sessions and technical governance activities.

Required profile

• Proven consulting experience with Microsoft security technologies.
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA and ISO 27001.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
