Master (Vessel <45m) – Part‑time

About the role

Join the NRMA Marine team as a Master of vessels under 45 metres, working a 7‑day rotating roster on a part‑time basis. You will be responsible for safe navigation, crew management and passenger satisfaction while operating within maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe navigation and operation of the vessel in compliance with maritime regulations and company guidelines.
• Maintain vessel systems, accurate paperwork, and oversee crew attendance and performance.
• Manage vessel security, handle emergency situations, and conduct security screening.
• Supervise vessel cleanliness, safety, and compliance with training, drills and the Safety Management System.

Required profile

• Current Master <45m licence (minimum).
• Current MED2 medical certificate.
• Certificate of Local Knowledge for Port Jackson.
• Current First Aid, Medical Fitness (AMSA or equivalent) and Working with Children’s Check.
• Strong line handling, seamanship and vessel handling skills.

• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and maritime regulations.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (desirable).
