Marketing and Communication Officer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and creative Marketing and Communications Officer to join the Marketing and External Communications team of the Gold Coast City Council. In this full‑time position you will develop and deliver strategic marketing and communications initiatives that promote council services, strengthen community engagement and support the delivery of the Council Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate strategic marketing and communications campaigns in collaboration with the wider team.
• Ensure all communications are planned, integrated, innovative and deliver value for money.
• Support the resolution of key issues through well‑planned marketing and communications strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise reach and impact.
• Enhance the City’s reputation through clear, consistent and positive messaging.
• Monitor and report on city‑wide campaigns, driving continuous improvement and accountability.

Required profile

• Energetic and strategic communicator with a flair for creating impactful campaigns.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, balancing big‑picture thinking with practical execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent experience.
