Managing Consultant – Recruitment

About the role

Robert Half is seeking a Managing Consultant for its award‑winning Melbourne office. The role focuses on growing divisional gross margin, delivering high‑quality service to clients and candidates, and contributing to the firm’s market leadership in specialised recruitment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive gross margin growth in line with RHI targets while maintaining service excellence.
• Understand technical and cultural traits of individuals and organisations to achieve successful placements.
• Monitor market trends, immigration and legislation changes affecting recruitment.
• Collaborate within a team to share ideas, co‑broker candidates and support the division in the manager’s absence.
• Provide revenue and gross‑margin forecasts to the Divisional Manager.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives and mentor consultants through the RHI Mentor Programme.
• Develop and manage client and candidate relationships, conduct interviews, negotiate fees and ensure successful placements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of recruitment experience (or five years relevant experience).
• Proven track record of high performance and sales results.
• Strong ethical standards and desire for professional development.
• Ability to build solid relationships with both candidates and clients.
