Manager, Health, Safety & Environment – Field

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) leader to drive safety performance across a geographically diverse network of critical infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Head of HSE & Risk, you will lead a team of Field HSE Advisors, partner with operational leaders and contractors, and ensure safe, compliant project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the HSE strategy across field operations and major construction projects.
• Coach, mentor and visibly lead a high‑performing safety culture.
• Partner with operational leaders and contractors to strengthen risk ownership and critical control management.
• Oversee field‑based HSE activities, including audits, inspections, compliance monitoring and performance reporting.
• Manage contractor HSE performance throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide expert advice on HSE legislation, standards and compliance requirements.
• Support incident investigations and embed lessons learned.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, reporting insights and digital solutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior HSE leadership experience in large‑scale construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or mining.
• Demonstrated ability to influence at all organisational levels and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of developing high‑performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on operational expertise.
