Civil Pipelayer – Large‑Scale Infrastructure Projects

About the role

McMahon Services is delivering the biggest civil utilities project ever undertaken in South Australia. As a Civil Pipelayer you will join experienced crews to install large‑diameter water, sewer and stormwater pipelines that will shape the state’s future.

Key responsibilities

• Install water, sewer, stormwater and associated underground infrastructure, including high‑voltage PVC conduits, large‑diameter MSCL water mains and HDPE trunk mains.
• Perform trenching, bedding, pipe alignment, grade control and jointing in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in civil pipelaying and underground service installation, including work around live services.
• Current Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card, with a strong understanding of safe work practices in excavations.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and levels.
• Use of laser levels and grade‑control equipment to achieve accurate pipe placement.
• Practical knowledge of pipe bedding, alignment, jointing and installation for large‑diameter pipelines.
