Management Accountant

About the role

The Management Accountant reports to the CFO and is responsible for accurate financial reporting, project profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting and delivering business performance insights across a multi‑state steel fabrication business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end job costing, from set‑up and invoicing to variation management and margin analysis.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and analyse performance against budget and forecast.
• Drive month‑end revenue recognition, balance‑sheet reconciliations and WIP/cost variance reporting.
• Partner with Sales, Project Management and Operations to improve project profitability and pricing outcomes.
• Manage Accounts Receivable and fixed assets.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and year‑end reporting processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience as a Management Accountant or similar commercial finance role in a medium‑to‑large organisation.
• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Exposure to the agricultural industry is highly regarded.
• Strong end‑to‑end job costing experience.
• High level of integrity, sound judgement and a hands‑on approach.
