Management Accountant - Home Care and Independent Living

About the role

HammondCare, a not-for-profit aged care provider, is looking for a Management Accountant for its Home Care and Independent Living portfolio. The role covers month-end, year-end financial and statutory accounting, prudential reporting, budgeting and forecasting, fixed assets and capital projects, plus general support for enabling portfolios. It is a part-time position of 3 days per week, based in St Leonards with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end reports on time, and identify improvements to procedures to make them more efficient
• Prepare regulatory reporting such as government acquittals and ACFR
• Analyse financial results and produce year-end financial and statutory reports covering aged care and ACNC legislation and Australian Accounting Standards
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking, and coordinate the annual budget and forecast process with Business Managers and Accountants
• Process General Ledger journals, corporate allocations, and reconcile the operating system to the General Ledger and the balance sheet
• Liaise with the Corporate Finance Team and internal and external auditors on audit and review
• Work with finance, operations and other business units to support client services, applying Aged Care and Retirement Village legislation

Required profile

• CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
• At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role
• Experience managing a team desirable
• Commitment to HammondCare's Christian mission and values

Required skills

• Strong administrative and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Exposure to SUN and Epicor systems advantageous
• Exposure to the home care sector advantageous
