Accounts Officer (AP/AR) - Parental Leave Cover

About the role

Southern Cross Care is seeking an organised, detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join its Finance team in Glenside, South Australia. Reporting directly to the Accounts Manager, the role delivers accurate and efficient financial processing across Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), overseeing resident billing, direct debit runs and account reconciliations so that residents and retirement village clients receive precise service.

The position is full-time, fixed-term (approximately 12 months, Monday to Friday) and covers parental leave.

Required profile

• Meticulous accuracy in data entry, account balancing and resolving discrepancies.
• Proven ability to manage priorities and meet strict banking cut-offs and operational deadlines.
• Clear, empathetic and professional written and verbal communication with residents, families and external agencies.
• A calm, resilient nature aligned with the organisation's values of Service, Courage and Compassion.
• Previous experience in an accounts officer, accounts payable or accounts receivable role is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Confident use of ERP databases and financial software.
• Account reconciliation and data entry.
