Maintenance Trades – Fitters, Boilermakers & Riggers

About the role

Wisely Group is looking for experienced Fitters, Boilermakers and Riggers to join its Maintenance Day Crew. You will support Tier 1 mining clients by delivering planned maintenance, outage support and shutdown work at CHPP wash plant sites across the Bowen Basin.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical fitting, welding and rigging tasks on CHPP and wash plant equipment.
• Participate in planned down‑days, outages and shutdowns, travelling from the Paget workshop in Mackay to various mine sites.
• Maintain safety standards, complete required tickets and documentation on each job.
• Collaborate with established site teams to ensure reliable plant operation.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification (Fitter & Turner, Boilermaker, Rigger).
• Current driver’s licence and ability to travel from Mackay.
• Proven experience in the respective trade, preferably with CHPP or wash‑plant exposure.
• Safety‑focused attitude with a proactive approach.

Required skills

• Mechanical fitting and Fitter & Turner techniques.
• ISO 9606‑qualified welding.
• RI or RA rigging tickets.
• Standard 11, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces and Gas Test Atmospheres.
• HRWL operation (Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging).
• Overhead gantry handling.
• Coal Board Medical (preferred).
