Maintenance Technician / Handyperson

About the role

The Sydney Boulevard Hotel, managed by Accor, is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Handyperson to support the Chief Engineer in keeping the property operating smoothly. This full‑time position involves a mix of preventative maintenance, repairs, and guest‑focused service across the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, general repairs and respond to guest requests using the hotel’s PMS and HotSOS systems.
• Perform routine inspections, identify faults, and rectify issues in guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities.
• Maintain equipment, tools and plant safely, and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Work with contractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely completion of work.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and maintain a clean, organised workshop.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in hospitality.
• Relevant trade qualifications in painting, air‑conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing or mechanical work.
• Physically fit, self‑motivated and able to work independently on a shift roster.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse cultural backgrounds.
