Maintenance Fitter – CNC & Advanced Manufacturing

About the role

Join Marand Precision Engineering as a Maintenance Fitter responsible for keeping a fleet of advanced CNC machining centres running at peak precision for aerospace and defence clients such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing and BAE Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair CNC machinery and production equipment, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Perform precision calibration and recommissioning after repairs to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance, identify recurring issues and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage spare parts inventory, coordinate with suppliers and contractors, and keep detailed maintenance records.
• Promote a safety‑first culture and ensure all work complies with company and legislative requirements.

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience maintaining production CNC machinery, including mills and lathes.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and proven fault‑finding skills.
• Ability to operate manual lathes, mills and grinders.
• Australian citizenship or ability to meet ITAR/EAR compliance, plus willingness to undergo security checks.
