Logistics Technician – Data Center Operations

About the role

As a Logistics Technician in Microsoft’s Canberra Data Center, you will support core cloud operations by managing inbound and outbound deliveries, performing cycle audits, and coordinating security escorts for third‑party vendors. The role offers exposure to inventory management, warranty processes, and secure data device destruction.

Key responsibilities

• Execute cycle audits and document all inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors entering the data center.
• Initiate and process warranty claims, handling packaging, shipment, and receipt of Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices.
• Maintain accurate records in inventory management systems, configuration management databases, and asset repositories.
• Track physical inventory, stage equipment, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Perform secure destruction of data‑bearing devices in accordance with service level agreements.

Required profile

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply process knowledge to resolve issues.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of the impact of inventory and asset tasks.
• Effective communication with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
