Despatch Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Despatch Team Leader to oversee the daily despatch operations at our Lysaght facility in Canberra. You will lead a small team, ensure orders are processed safely and on time, and act as the key link between production, transport and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day despatch operation, maintaining safety, organisation and efficiency.
• Supervise loading and unloading activities and verify load accuracy.
• Coordinate with the Production Team Leader, transport scheduler and customer service to prioritise orders.
• Run daily morning briefings, communicate priorities and follow up on any issues.
• Handle direct customer enquiries and support occasional order assistance.
• Monitor and report on despatch performance, addressing errors promptly.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead a small team in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Safety‑focused mindset with a commitment to compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated, reliable and able to work on the shop floor.
