Litigation Lawyer

About the role

Macquarie's Central Group Litigation and Investigations team provides specialist advice on significant contentious matters escalated from across Macquarie's businesses and support groups. The lawyer advises a global caseload to senior stakeholders such as lawyers in Macquarie's businesses, as well as compliance, risk, technology, employee relations and security professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and execute litigation strategy
• Identify and evaluate evidence, including witness interviews and eDiscovery reviews
• Prepare and present investigation reports
• Manage external counsel teams
• Design and implement frameworks that improve the conduct of contentious matters, with related reporting and training

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years' PQE in private practice, ideally top-tier, advising on complex disputes for highly regulated clients including financial institutions
• Significant experience of investigations or enforcement proceedings involving Australian financial regulators such as ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC or ACCC
• Ability to run matters autonomously, excel under pressure and build stakeholder trust
