Lifestyle Carer

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Lifestyle Carer to design and deliver engaging lifestyle programs that promote social interaction, emotional wellbeing and a sense of purpose for its residents. This is a permanent part-time role, working Saturdays 10 am to 6 pm and Sundays 9 am to 5 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities
• Support residents to maintain independence and dignity through meaningful engagement
• Learn residents' life stories, interests and goals to inform personalised activities
• Work with residents, families and care teams to support holistic care plans
• Communicate activity calendars and evaluate programs to improve resident outcomes
• Follow safety, quality and aged care requirements

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, or Bachelor's or Diploma in Health Science or Community Services
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Warm, creative and organised, with good communication skills and a genuine interest in enriching the lives of older people
• Preferred: experience in aged care or a similar care setting, knowledge of aged care quality and accreditation requirements, and experience planning or facilitating lifestyle activities
