Carer – Goodhew Gardens & Bay Breeze Care Home

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is recruiting a Carer for its Goodhew Gardens & Bay Breeze Care Home in Taren Point. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care that helps residents live with dignity and purpose, supporting their physical and emotional wellbeing and helping them stay independent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and other physical assistance
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Observe, monitor and accurately document residents' care and progress
• Follow individual care plans and escalate changes in a resident's condition to the Registered Nurse or appropriate leader
• Work with nurses, allied health professionals and other care team members
• Maintain residents' privacy, dignity, safety and independence

Required profile

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification
• Minimum six months' experience providing personal care in aged care or a similar healthcare environment
• Current NDIS workers screening check clearance
• Australian working rights appropriate to the position
• Availability to work required shifts throughout the week, including weekends on a casual basis
• Preferred: experience in residential aged care, dementia support, writing progress notes, and working with Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary teams

Required skills

• Experience using electronic care management or digital documentation systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (preferred)
