Legal Counsel

About the role

Acenda Group is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its high‑performing legal team. The role focuses on dispute resolution while also providing legal support across financial services, regulatory, superannuation, employment and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support the resolution of disputes, litigation and AFCA matters.
• Develop dispute resolution strategies and drive matters to successful outcomes.
• Work with external law firms and service providers to ensure cost‑effective legal support.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders.
• Support a broad range of legal matters across financial services, superannuation, regulatory and commercial areas.

Required profile

• Australian legal qualifications with a current unrestricted practising certificate.
• Experience managing disputes, litigation, AFCA matters or regulatory investigations.
• Exposure to financial services, insurance, regulatory or superannuation matters, or a strong interest in developing expertise in these areas.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
