Legal Counsel

About the role

Propeller is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its fast‑growing global business. You will provide practical, commercially‑mindful legal guidance across Australia, the Americas, the UK and Europe, helping to move deals forward while protecting the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial legal work globally, supporting contracts, negotiations and day‑to‑day legal questions.
• Support major business moments such as investments, fundraising, M&A and other corporate transactions.
• Partner with Sales on customer and vendor agreements, balancing commercial goals and risk.
• Provide legal advice to Marketing, RevOps and other teams to enable rapid decision‑making.
• Advise on privacy and GDPR requirements and work with Security to stay ahead of regulatory changes.
• Manage legal disputes, liaise with external counsel and oversee litigation or alternative dispute resolution.
• Monitor new legislation and help the business respond quickly to emerging risks.
• Help build and improve the legal function as the company scales.

Required profile

• 5+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) with a law degree and current practising certificate.
• In‑house legal experience, preferably in a venture‑backed technology or SaaS business.
• Experience with complex, high‑value commercial transactions and cross‑border work.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders.
• Clear, collaborative communication style, turning complex legal concepts into practical advice.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy regulations.
• Understanding of AI regulation and compliance in SaaS environments.
