Leading Hand Land Management

About the role

Downer has been awarded the Property and Asset Services (PAS) contract to deliver base and estate services across its NSW/ACT and QLD regions, and is recruiting a permanent Leading Hand - Land Management at RAAF Base, Townsville. The role covers a broad scope of supervising grounds and garden maintenance teams and keeping estates well maintained. Applicants are invited from all backgrounds, with Defence experience, industry knowledge or transferable skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic supervision of grounds and garden maintenance teams
• Ensure upkeep of estates
• Supervise inspection, maintenance and upkeep of site grounds and gardens
• Make sure work delivered meets Gardens and Grounds requirements
• Use the Grounds and Gardens delivery and inspection plans

Required profile

• Certificate III/IV in Horticulture (desirable)
• Diploma in Landscape Management (desirable)
• Grounds maintenance experience
• Horticulture expertise
• Australian citizenship, as Defence security clearance is required
• Current open driver's licence
