Lead Auditor – ISO Certification

About the role

The Lead Auditor will join the Citation Certification audit team, reporting to the Operations Manager. This senior position involves managing complex multi‑scheme audits and acting as the technical lead for ISO 27001 and the emerging ISO 42001 standard.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex audits across ISMS, QMS, OHS and EMS from planning to close‑out.
• Serve as technical lead on ISO 27001 and ISO 42001, helping to launch the new 42001 scheme.
• Produce clear, accurate audit reports in collaboration with the Technical Expert.
• Train, mentor and upskill auditors, setting high audit‑quality standards.
• Manage key client relationships, explaining audit processes in plain language.
• Conduct 3‑4 days per week of client, witness and internal audits, including interstate travel.

Required profile

• Extensive lead auditor experience with ISO 27001 as a third‑party auditor.
• Working knowledge of ISO 42001 and AI management system audits.
• Current lead auditor registration for ISO 27001 and ISO 42001.
• Ability to explain auditing concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong people skills and a collaborative team attitude.
