Lawyer – WorkCover Team (Queensland Public Sector)

About the role

The WorkCover team at Crown Law provides defence for complex workers' compensation claims and advises Queensland Government agencies on related legal risks. As a Lawyer you will deliver high‑quality legal advice, manage matters that require substantial professional judgement, and build long‑term client partnerships within this specialised team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on workers' compensation and associated legislative matters.
• Manage and defend complex workers' compensation claims on behalf of the Queensland Government.
• Identify and advise on legal risks for government agencies and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other legal branches and teams to ensure consistent service delivery.

Required profile

• A qualified lawyer with a strong understanding of workers' compensation law.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement on complex matters.

• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
