Laboratory Assistant and Preparation Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant and Preparation Assistant to join our Fuels division in Mackay. The role involves testing and preparing coal samples to support our fuel analysis services. You will receive training from experienced specialists and work both in the laboratory and handling areas.

Key responsibilities

• Operate specialised equipment to conduct laboratory testing of coal samples.
• Perform manual handling tasks to prepare coal samples for analysis.
• Assist in simulating coal production processes to evaluate sample properties.

Required profile

• Valid Queensland C Class manual driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Physically fit for manual handling and able to work day, afternoon, weekend and overtime shifts.
• Strong numerical ability and a methodical, organised work approach.
• Willingness to undergo ongoing drug and alcohol testing and site inductions.
• Residency in the Mackay region (no FIFO).
