Key Account Manager – Independent Brands Australia

About the role

Metcash’s Independent Brands Australia (IBA) is seeking a commercially‑minded Key Account Manager to grow and manage a portfolio of strategic retail accounts across Queensland and, where appropriate, New South Wales. You will partner with key retail groups, drive commercial performance and support the growth of independent liquor retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and expand a portfolio of key retail and strategic customer accounts.
• Develop and execute growth plans aligned with business objectives and internal teams.
• Identify sales, engagement and profitability opportunities in collaboration with suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, promotional programmes and trading initiatives.
• Analyse sales performance and customer data to provide actionable insights.
• Partner with Category, Marketing, Merchandise and Operations teams to implement new strategies.
• Maintain accurate forecasts, reporting and account management plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Key Account Management or Business Development.
• Experience in FMCG, preferably liquor, is highly regarded.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Commercially astute with experience negotiating complex agreements.
• Comfortable working with sales data, reporting and business insights.
