Junior Legal Counsel and Compliance Advisor

About the role

This is a permanent, onsite position in North Sydney where you will provide pragmatic, commercially‑focused legal and compliance advice within Holcim’s risk appetite. You will work in a fast‑paced environment covering a wide range of legal areas such as construction, transport, property, planning, commercial, procurement, safety, environmental and insurance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate, concise advice tailored to the commercial context.
• Apply Holcim’s risk appetite (HANZ) when delivering legal guidance.
• Support other members of the legal team and drive continuous improvement of the legal knowledge centre.
• Research emerging areas of law to keep the business prepared for legislative changes.
• Draft brief advice and matter summaries under supervision of senior lawyers.
• Maintain and deliver Holcim’s compliance programme, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory and Group requirements.
• Assist with the development of compliance policies, procedures and internal audits.
• Support the legal and compliance training plan, reporting, communications and follow‑ups.
• Actively lead and promote a safety culture at all times.

Required profile

• LLB or BBus degree (highly valued).
• Certificate in Compliance and Risk Management or a similar qualification (highly valued).
• Emerging post‑qualification experience or experienced paralegal background in a corporate environment or law firm.
