Junior IT Service Desk Operator

About the role

Capricorn is looking for a Junior IT Service Desk Operator to join its team on a 12‑month contract. You will use your technical knowledge to resolve hardware and software incidents quickly, while delivering a high level of user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for a range of operating systems, applications and networking issues.
• Log, triage and resolve incidents and service requests using ITSM tools, adhering to SLA targets.
• Create and maintain knowledge‑base articles, FAQs and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external vendors to improve processes and system reliability.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate; prior work experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong communication, active listening and empathy to deliver excellent customer service.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes and suggest improvements.

Required skills

• Understanding of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hardware components.
• Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools for incident and request handling.
