About the role
This contract position supports a Federal Government client by providing junior‑level DevOps expertise. The role focuses on building, integrating, and testing software components in a secure, onsite environment across several Australian capitals.
Key responsibilities
- Produce software builds from source code following documented procedures.
- Execute integration tests, record outcomes, and re‑run tests after fixes.
- Perform basic log analysis to identify obvious errors.
- Report issues and risks, escalating when guidance is insufficient.
- Assist with routine environment and configuration checks.
- Support automation and continuous integration initiatives to improve build reliability.
Required profile
- Baseline Security Clearance or higher.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week onsite at an ATO office.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
- Willingness to learn and follow established build and test processes.
Required skills
- Understanding of software build processes.
- Familiarity with integration testing concepts.
- Basic knowledge of automation and continuous integration principles.
What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract for up to three years (12 months initial period with two extensions).
- Onsite work in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne.
- Rate of 89 AUD per hour (in superannuation or plus GST).
