IT Solutions Architect

About the role

Babcock is looking for an experienced IT Solutions Architect to join its expanding IT team in Adelaide. Reporting to the PM, Architecture and Engagement Team Leader, the role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery, helping ensure technology solutions support the organisation's future needs. It is a trusted advisor position working with stakeholders across the business to understand their challenges, identify technology opportunities and design secure, scalable solutions aligned with Babcock's technology standards.

Key responsibilities

• Work across the full solution lifecycle, from gathering and documenting requirements through to solution design, governance and implementation support.
• Bridge the gap between business requirements and IT capability, designing solution architectures that meet business objectives.
• Work alongside Project Managers, Enterprise Architects and technical teams to shape project outcomes and provide technical leadership.
• Help deliver solutions in line with best practice, governance standards and business objectives.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with a Defence security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in a project-based technology and solution delivery environment.
• Previous experience in a similar role within Defence or other high-risk, complex industries.
• Ability to deliver integrations with third-party services such as Azure or AWS.

Required skills

• Technical qualifications such as MCSE or CCNA.
• Experience with Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and Oracle software platforms.
• Use of an architectural toolset for design, process and lifecycle management.
