Senior Software Engineer (HR/Student Systems)

About the role

Adelaide University is hiring four full-time continuing Senior Software Engineer positions in its Information Technology function, based in the Adelaide CBD, primarily at the City East campus with occasional travel to Mawson Lakes. The roles sit in either the IT Research Enablement and Digital Business team (HR Systems) or the IT Engagement and Education Success team (Student Systems), supporting the enterprise HR, payroll and student management systems. The advertised salary range is $121,744 - $135,754 per year, plus 17% superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Support, enhance and transform the enterprise HR, payroll and student management systems
• Develop and configure PeopleSoft applications and provide functional support such as process and data management, system configuration, data analysis, testing and validation
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional teams and IT specialists to deliver system enhancements and optimise business processes
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience supporting, configuring, developing and enhancing Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and/or Campus Solutions applications, with a strong understanding of the related business processes
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and teams, communicate technical concepts clearly and take ownership of work
• Experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews

Required skills

• PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker and SQL
• PeopleSoft HCM modules such as Global Payroll, Absence Management, Employee Self Service, Time and Labour, and Campus Solutions modules such as Admissions, Enrolment, Graduations, Student Finance, Student Records and Timetabling
• API-based integration, PeopleTools 8.62 and higher and Fluid are highly desirable
