Internal Audit Officer – Hybrid Role in Strathpine

About the role

The City of Moreton Bay is seeking an Internal Audit Officer to support its Internal Audit function. Working in a hybrid environment with flexible hours, you will help ensure strong governance, accountability and continuous improvement across the council.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering the Internal Audit Plan and support the Audit and Risk Committee.
• Coordinate Audit Committee reporting, track audit recommendations and monitor management actions.
• Maintain internal audit dashboards and performance reports using Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Conduct assurance activities across financial, operational and technology audits.
• Analyse data to generate insights that drive stronger controls and informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• Experience in audit, compliance, risk or assurance functions.
• Strong analytical thinking with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse organisation.
• Proactive mindset with effective priority management.
• Willingness to pursue professional qualifications such as Certified Internal Auditor or Microsoft Data Analyst certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Power BI and other BI reporting tools.
