Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

CORE Consulting Engineers is looking for a motivated Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team. Reporting to the Associate Director, you will work on a diverse portfolio of construction projects across Australia, integrating with other disciplines to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering advice throughout project phases – due diligence, concept, detailed design and construction administration.
• Lead design packages and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Optimise productivity and manage personal performance targets.
• Prepare documentation, calculations and reports for class 2/3 projects.

Required profile

• Degree qualified with 6+ years of HVAC design experience.
• Relevant accreditation with Engineers Australia (NER registration, DPBA qualified, CPEng preferred or in progress).
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC and best engineering practices.
• Experience delivering class 2/3 projects from start to finish.

Required skills

• HVAC design and mechanical calculations.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Autodesk CAD (or willingness to learn).
• Strong use of Bluebeam for documentation.
• Experience with CAMEL and IES software.
