Integration Architect – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

This 12‑month contract role is for an Integration Architect to join a large‑scale transformation programme in Melbourne. You will sit at the centre of two major enterprise initiatives, defining modern, API‑first integration approaches and ensuring seamless connectivity across parallel delivery streams.

Key responsibilities

• Define enterprise integration patterns, API contracts and interface designs for critical programmes.
• Design transition and coexistence integrations to support parallel system delivery.
• Lead the shift to API‑led and event‑driven architecture for real‑time, scalable data flows.
• Shape the target‑state integration platform strategy across a fragmented landscape.
• Map and document interfaces, dependencies and sequencing to aid programme delivery.
• Establish non‑functional requirements such as performance, resilience and security.
• Collaborate with programme architects and system integrators to review and challenge solution designs.
• Deliver proofs of concept for high‑risk or high‑volume integration scenarios.
• Promote reusable patterns, standards and governance practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and delivering integration solutions in large enterprise transformation programmes.
• Hands‑on expertise with SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite and SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Proven background in retail POS integration and complex interface design.
• Experience with cloud integration patterns, preferably AWS.
• Demonstrated ability to support parallel delivery or system migration environments.
• Strong understanding of integration performance, resilience and security requirements.
• Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
