About the role
The Injury Prevention Consultant will deliver onsite practical injury prevention services for Western Australian local governments, focusing on reducing musculoskeletal injuries and supporting the LGISWA Scheme’s Workforce Prevention & Wellbeing Program.
Key responsibilities
- Drive a participatory approach to manual task injury mitigation in line with the WA Code of Practice.
- Conduct onsite ergonomic and manual‑task risk assessments across WA, including regional and remote locations.
- Provide education sessions to local‑government employees to lower workers‑compensation claims.
- Innovate pre‑claim early‑intervention services to reduce injury trends.
- Collaborate with internal Account Managers, WHS/Risk Consultants, Injury Management and Claims Consultants, and Regional Risk Coordinators.
- Assist the Manager, Workcare Services in developing strategic health, wellbeing, and injury‑prevention plans for LGIS members.
Required profile
- Qualification in Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Ergonomics, WHS or Physiotherapy (essential).
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop within injury‑prevention.
- Excellent communication and group presentation abilities.
- Effective time‑management and willingness to travel across WA with a valid WA driver’s licence.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
