About the role
The Injury Prevention Consultant will deliver onsite practical injury prevention services for Western Australian local governments, focusing on reducing musculoskeletal injuries and supporting the LGISWA Scheme’s Workforce Prevention & Wellbeing Program.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct manual task and ergonomic risk assessments across WA, including regional and remote locations.
- Provide education sessions to staff to mitigate workers’ compensation claims.
- Innovate pre‑claim early‑intervention services to reduce injury trends.
- Collaborate with internal WHS, risk, and claims consultants to develop proactive prevention strategies.
- Assist the Manager, Workcare Services in creating strategic health and wellbeing plans for LGIS members.
Required profile
- Qualification in Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Ergonomics, WHS or Physiotherapy (essential).
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop in injury prevention.
- Excellent communication and group presentation skills.
- Current WA driver’s licence and willingness to travel across WA.
