In‑house Lawyer – Renewables

About the role

The In‑house Lawyer will report to the Head of Legal, Governance and Sustainability and provide practical corporate and commercial legal advice to support operations, project development and corporate activities in the renewables sector.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely, risk‑weighted legal advice across operations, procurement, project development and corporate matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate construction, connection, procurement, services and land contracts to balance value, risk and deliverability.
• Identify, communicate and manage legal and regulatory risks early, ensuring they stay within the company’s risk appetite.
• Support governance and company secretarial duties, including board material, corporate records and policy work.
• Manage disputes, claims and contentious matters to protect commercial position and reputation.

Required profile

• Law degree with admission to practice in Australia and a current practising certificate.
• Approximately five years post‑qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Strong commercial contracting experience, including drafting, review and negotiation.
• Experience supporting corporate transactions, procurement or project activities, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
