Hydraulic Technician (Plant / Generator Experience)

About the role

An established equipment service business serving customers in construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors is looking for a Hydraulic Technician / Field Service Technician in Sydney. The role covers hydraulic maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on industrial and mobile equipment, combining workshop and field service work. It suits a qualified tradesperson with hydraulic experience who enjoys hands-on technical work.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose hydraulic faults and carry out repairs on a range of equipment
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems and components
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and associated electrical issues
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs onsite and in the workshop
• Inspect equipment, identify faults and perform preventative maintenance
• Work with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves and associated components
• Travel to customer sites to carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs when required
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently

Required profile

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering, Fitting and Turning or a related mechanical trade
• Previous experience in hydraulics, hydraulic repairs or servicing mechanical equipment
• Experience with mobile plant, generators, heavy machinery or industrial equipment is highly beneficial
• Ability to interpret technical information and troubleshoot equipment faults
• Willingness to travel interstate periodically, including overnight stays
• Current driver's licence and ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
