HSEQ Officer - Global Technology Business

About the role

An established global technology business is recruiting an HSEQ Officer based in Macquarie Park, New South Wales, through Robert Half. The role sits in a period of growth and investment, working across Australia and New Zealand to maintain HSEQ standards, support compliance and run the Sydney office smoothly. It reports to a senior leader and works closely with the wider People and Culture team.

The position combines about 60% HSEQ responsibilities with 40% office and facilities management. Employees are based in NSW and Victoria, and clients operate across all Australian states, so national WHS knowledge is needed. The role works closely with an HSEQ Coordinator in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Manage WHS compliance, policies, procedures and risk management across Australian operations.
• Coordinate ISO 45001 audit preparation, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and workplace safety initiatives.
• Manage WHS inductions, contractor safety requirements and employee training.
• Conduct periodic warehouse site inspections and support consistent safety practices across the region with the NZ-based coordinator.
• Maintain safety records, risk registers and compliance documentation.
• Oversee day-to-day Sydney office operations, including facilities, maintenance and external service providers.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to promote a safe and compliant environment.

Required profile

• About five years' experience in WHS, HSEQ or a similar health and safety role.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance across all Australian states and territories.
• Experience with ISO 45001, including audit preparation and management systems.
• Understanding of risk assessments, incident management and safety documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and strong planning and organisational skills.
• A hands-on, adaptable approach and willingness to support office and facilities operations.
• Experience in corporate, technology, multisite or warehousing environments is highly regarded.

• Salary of $110,000-$120,000 plus superannuation.
