Hospitality and Environmental Services Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

The Hospitality and Environmental Services Assistant works part‑time (34 hours per fortnight) at the Kaniva site, providing cleaning, food preparation and delivery services across acute, aged‑care and external facilities. The role supports a safe, hygienic environment for patients, residents, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean acute care areas, residential aged‑care units and external properties in line with Department of Human Services standards.
• Assist with preparation, service and delivery of meals for patients, residents, staff and events.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, ensuring they remain safe and sanitary.
• Uphold high hygiene standards and follow West Wimmera Health Service infection‑prevention protocols.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, management and the broader community.

Required profile

• Effective communication and organisational abilities.
• Capability to work independently without active supervision.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and be multi‑skilled.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check, and full vaccination (including influenza) as per Department of Health directives.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Basic ability to learn and use additional computer software packages as required.
