Home Services Officer - Kitchen, Cleaning & Laundry

About the role

BlueCare is looking for a Home Services Officer for its Mackay Aged Care Facility. You will join the onsite hospitality team delivering dining, cleaning and laundry services in a safe, welcoming and person-centred environment. The role suits someone who wants to build meaningful relationships and restore work-life balance in aged care. A casual opportunity is available, and morning shifts can start as early as 6am and afternoon shifts can finish as late as 8pm.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and service, making sure meals are delivered safely and meet dietary requirements
• Set up and maintain clean dining areas and support residents during mealtimes
• Perform cleaning and laundry duties, including resident rooms and shared areas, and caring for clothing and linen
• Engage with residents warmly and respectfully, and deliver a high standard of hygiene and safety
• Support the team with daily operations so service runs smoothly

Required profile

• Prior experience in hospitality, cleaning, food services or a similar environment
• Person-centred customer service with warmth and respect
• Strong communication skills and teamwork
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and safety standards
• Willingness to learn food safety, infection control and cleaning practices
• NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain it, and confidence to pass relevant probity checks
