Youth Worker - Child and Family Care

About the role

selectability is looking for a Youth Worker to join its growing team. Its youth residential program provides accommodation and intensive support to children and young people with a variety of needs, some with high to complex needs. The Youth Worker plays a vital role in helping them live their best life, within consistent and stable teams.

Required profile

• Clear and effective communication skills
• Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster
• Minimum Cert IV qualification recognised under child safety minimum qualification standards, or willingness to study actively
• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence and a registered, roadworthy, fully insured vehicle complying with Queensland road rules
• Nationally recognised first aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)
• Child Safety and Personal History Screening check, a positive Working with Children check (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (all obtainable)

• Computer literacy and accurate record management
• Following policies and procedures
• Child-safe, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice in daily interactions, supervision and documentation
