Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

EnerMech is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic in Wagerup who combines hands-on field maintenance and repairs with fleet maintenance planning and coordination. The equipment covered includes high-pressure water pumps, heavy diesel engines, vacuum trucks, hydraulic power packs and associated industrial equipment. The role suits a practical, organised mechanic who enjoys fault finding and repairs, while also taking ownership of maintenance schedules, equipment records and repair coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Service, inspect, diagnose and repair heavy diesel equipment, high-pressure water pumps, vacuum trucks and hydraulic power packs.
• Source parts, obtain quotations and coordinate specialist contractors and external repairs.
• Work with supervisors and operators to prioritise repairs and arrange equipment availability.
• Maintain service histories, maintenance schedules and defect registers.

Required profile

• Relevant heavy diesel or heavy vehicle mechanical trade qualification.
• Strong experience in diesel engine diagnostics, servicing and repairs.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and industrial equipment.
• Current driver's licence.

Required skills

• Desirable: experience maintaining high-pressure water pumps (triplex positive displacement), vacuum trucks and hydraulic power packs.
• Desirable: electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills, especially equipment wiring, sensors and control circuits.
• Desirable: HR driver's licence.
• Desirable: comfortable using computers for maintenance records, parts ordering, emails and scheduling.
