Operations Team Member (Day Shift)

About the role

Lysaght, part of BlueScope, is hiring a permanent Operations Team Member for its Albury site. You will work from 5:00am to 1:06pm, Monday to Friday, with some overtime when needed, in a small team that makes and prepares steel building products for customers across the region. Training and support are provided, and no manufacturing experience is required.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machinery that turns steel into Lysaght building products
• Check products carefully for quality
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders
• Safely load and unload trucks
• Operate material-handling equipment, including a forklift
• Keep work areas organised and ready for the next job
• Help customers and drivers attending the site with teammates so orders move safely and on time

Required profile

• Enjoys practical, physically active work and likes working in a small team
• Takes pride in doing a job properly and pays attention to safety and quality
• Comfortable asking questions and learning how things work
• Willing to help customers, drivers or teammates when needed
• Backgrounds such as warehouse, retail, hospitality, transport, construction or agriculture are welcome

Required skills

• A forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one with support and training
• Ability to operate machinery and material-handling equipment
