About the role
The Health Service Medical Practitioner will deliver patient‑centred clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings at Kalgoorlie Health Campus. Working under senior medical supervision, you will rotate through general medicine, rapid access, cardiology, infectious disease and diabetes clinics.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic patients in ward rounds, outpatient clinics and emergency care.
- Participate in a 9‑person rotating shift system with no on‑call duties and minimal overtime.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support teaching, mentoring and professional development activities.
Required profile
- Current registration as a medical practitioner in Australia (Level 3 or above supervision).
- Substantial training and experience in General and Acute Medicine, or eligibility for RACP Advanced Training, or Fellowship of RACGP/ACRRM with commitment to advanced specialist training.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated involvement in clinical governance, medical education and cultural safety.
Required skills
- Clinical assessment and management of a broad range of medical conditions.
- Documentation and use of electronic medical records.
- Quality improvement and patient safety methodologies.

- Annual salary $357,862 – $378,577 (including base salary, $35,737 professional development allowance and 12% superannuation).
