Health & Safety Officer – Residential Scaffolding

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to lead safety initiatives across multiple residential scaffolding projects in Melbourne. You will work closely with project managers, supervisors and scaffold crews to embed a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and site audits across residential sites.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Australian Standards and company procedures.
• Complete risk assessments, SWMS reviews and incident investigations.
• Provide safety coaching, toolbox talks and ongoing training to scaffold crews and site supervisors.
• Identify hazards, implement corrective actions and maintain accurate safety documentation.
• Foster a proactive safety culture throughout all projects.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Building and Construction (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as an OH&S Officer, Safety Advisor or similar construction safety role.
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience conducting site audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• White Card and a current Victorian driver’s licence.
