Health Assistant in Nursing (HAN) – General Medicine (Part‑time)

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a passionate Health Assistant in Nursing (HAN) to join its 5 North ward, a 20‑bed acute General Medicine unit. This ongoing part‑time position offers a rotating roster of 48 hours per fortnight within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to patients on a busy acute ward.
• Collaborate with nursing, allied health, pharmacy and medical staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in post‑operative care, wound management and complex reconstructive cases.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and adhere to hospital policies.

Required profile

• Experience or genuine interest in acute clinical settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
