Head of Procurement – $180k + Super + Bonus

About the role

This senior position leads the transformation of procurement for a national construction products business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will shape strategy, influence executive decisions and build lasting supplier partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan that positions procurement as a core commercial function.
• Lead supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing and commercial agreements to maximise margin and long‑term value.
• Build trusted partnerships with branch managers, executive leaders and suppliers to improve collaboration and commercial outcomes.
• Coach and develop a high‑performing procurement and inventory team, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
• Enhance procurement governance, forecasting, reporting and inventory performance through stronger commercial processes.
• Identify and deliver initiatives that improve operational efficiency, supplier performance and overall business profitability.

Required profile

• Commercially astute procurement leader with a proven record of driving performance through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Experience in construction, building products, industrial distribution, manufacturing or a closely related sector.
• Demonstrated ability to move procurement beyond transactional purchasing to a strategic commercial partner.
• Strong track record of developing supplier partnerships, improving forecasting and embedding commercial discipline.
